Our Programmes

Our programmes aim to bring together senior and aspiring leaders from across the public and not-for-profit/voluntary sectors, with the aim of developing strong networks and enabling participants to identify opportunities for collaborative working; ensuring that services delivered are done so in an effective and efficient manner and ultimately to improve the delivery of services to the public.

Within our current portfolio we have four core open development programmes available:
The Collaborative Leader is a two-day high energy and interactive programme that provides leaders who deliver public services the opportunity to explore and deepen their understanding of the challenging and multi-layered issues impacting on communities. These challenges include health inequalities, housing, poverty, crime and public safety. Whilst collaborative initiatives and partnership working has increased, this needs to accelerate as leaders are required to work across organisational boundaries to deliver better, more effective public services focused on outcomes.
The next planned dates for this programme are 24th - 25th April 2018 in Manchester, the 20th - 21st November 2018 in Basildon and Thurrock and just added, the 3rd and 4th September 2018, hosted by the City of London Corporation.

STRATEGIC IMPACT GROUPS We find that many of our participants get so much from interacting with peers from other sectors they wish to pursue this further. Also, some potential participants can’t attend a residential programme. The Strategic Impact Groups are for them.

The Generic Programme is for senior leaders who wish to develop their strategic insight. Click here for details: Flyer

The CEO Programme is for executive leaders who wish to further widen their perspective or gain insight into other sectors. Click here for details: Flyer

LEADING WITHOUT BOUNDARIES is a programme for middle level leaders where you will work on real problems, identifying common challenges and noting differences through working with leaders from other sectors. You will together identify options and solutions you tions to often ‘wicked-problems’. The programme will cover areas such as managing stakeholders, negotiating and influencing, systems leaderships, the WHY of leadership and decision making. Please contact bookings@csleuk.org for further details.

UGANDAN LEADERSHIP PIONEERS The Uganda Leadership Challenge is a seven-day executive training where you will develop your leadership skills whilst making a difference. This is a programme that provides participants with hands-on experience of working in Uganda. It partners UK public and voluntary sector professionals with leaders from the Ugandan health sector to create joint teams that work together to improve service delivery at health centres in some of the most remote and deprived regions of Western Uganda. During the week, participants are taught how to apply traditional leadership frameworks in Uganda’s challenging environment. Theory is put into practice during visits to the health centres where teams are immersed in community life. Back in the training room, leadership skills are further tested as participants work together to plan for producing results. After the seven days, the participants will continue to support their Ugandan peers remotely for six months. The next programme is planned for 30th June to 8th July 2018. Please go to the Pepal website at http://www.pepal.org/uganda-leadership-pioneers/ and see the flyer here for further details and who to contact.
